Nothing better than a hot drink and a good book When the cold weather of fall and winter hits! the Hot Sahlab drink here hits the spot! Yum.
I brought you this time a very delicious drink recipe to Warm up around the fireplace that’ll take the chill out of any winter day, perfect for any family gathering.
Sahlab is the most popular traditional drink in the Arab Countries it was introduced by the Ottomans that’s why it’s served in many Turkish cafes during the winter season, the actual Sahlab or Salep, as it’s known in Turkey, is a white powder extracted from the tubers of the orchid genus Orchis, you can buy it ready and just mix it with water or milk, bring it to boil Et Voila the drink is ready in a minute, But what if the whitish powder is not available, is there anything I could substitute the Sahlab powder for? The answer is yes
I came across this recipe while watching an Egyptian cooking show on TV by Chef Sally Fouad so I decided to give it a go myself, this recipe is one of the yummiest Sahlab recipes I’ve tried so far. Unfortunately, it’s so hard to find Sahlab Powder here where I live but this recipe is used as an alternative.
