[:en]The best way to save your smile is to eat a healthy balanced diet with plenty of water and avoid certain food and beverages that harm and stain your teeth such as coffee, tea, sugary drinks and dark coloured fruits. Greens, dairy products and fish are all great sources of calcium and vitamin D by including them into your daily diet you protect your teeth and keep them healthy and strong.
I am sharing with you these DIY techniques to wear a bright smile using natural ingredients, you probably might heard about most of them and their amazing results, it’s just a MAGIC!
You don’t need to pay millions and thousands on whitening treatments when you can achieve brighter whiter teeth from home with different and cheaper ways, so save your money and say good bye to expensive and harmful chemical bleaching, go to your kitchen and let’s get started.
Bicarbonate (Baking) soda: It’s a pretty common method and you can use it in two different ways (I use this one).
- Soda and lemon: 1 tablespoon soda, 1 squeeze of lemon make a paste and brush your teeth with a clean toothbrush, rinse thoroughly no more than once a week as the acids wear off the tooth enamel and harm the gum, you will be amazed with the results after one month.
- Soda and water: the citric acid is particularly unfriendly to tooth enamel, so in this method use the water instead, dip a wet toothbrush in the soda powder and brush your teeth.
Strawberries: one of the cheapest do-it-yourself to brighten your teeth, strawberry as it contains malic acid which buffs away the stains and helps improve oral health. Mash a ripe strawberry and brush your teeth, safe for daily use and for a good result mix it with one teaspoon of Baking Soda.
Banana and Orange peels: the white part of banana and orange peels contains vitamins and they are a wonderful source of minerals, rub your teeth with the inside of the banana peel or orange peel and wait for up to an hour before you brush your teeth. Acidic foods (orange) can soften enamel and may make it easier for you to damage it (Source).
Olive oil: Oil Pulling is an old method and very affective as the oil can reduce the bacteria and limit plaque-formation on your teeth. I personally prefer olive oil because of its health benefits; swish about two tablespoons of olive oil around your mouth for 20 mins, spit out into the trash or toilet then brush with your natural toothpaste.
Turmeric: it’s also said to be a natural affective way to whitening teeth, combine one teaspoon of turmeric with drops of coconut oil (it’s used for Oil Pulling as well) to make a paste, brush your teeth for 3 mins and rinse, (Simply Organic Turmeric).
Tahini: as we all know tahini is sesame paste and oil, and both are extremely good for teeth health, brushing with tahini helps remove teeth plaque and gives you a healthy bright smile,(Organic Tahini).
Charcoal: there are several uses for activated charcoal when it comes to beauty aids teeth whitening and gum diseases are one of it, dip a toothbrush to water and into charcoal powder and brush gently for 3 mins rinse out with water into the toilet and flash it is a bit messy but worth it, (NOTICEABLE difference from day 1 using this BRAND check the reviews).
