Just one spoonful is never enough, Yes!! today’s recipe is tiramisu, TIRAMISU is an Italian dessert consisting of sponge ladyfingers soaked in a coffee layered with a light creamy mixture of whipped cream, egg yolks and mascarpone cheese and powdered with unsweetened Cocoa.
This Tiramisu is very easy and simple to make. All you need to do is to dip the ladyfingers biscuits into the coffee solution -you have to do that quickly or the biscuits would become soggy and start breaking- and layer the ingredients alternating between soaked biscuits and cream cheese.
I’m sharing with you this time the classic tiramisu. the easiest recipe, but nowadays people are making tiramisu with different flavours adding fruits like strawberries, bananas.. the dish I am using here is PYREX Clear Glass Medium Square, 3 egg yolks are enough for this recipe, if you want to make tiramisu in a large dish add another 3 egg yolks.
Prepare this a day ahead so all of the elements can meld and the ladyfingers to soften fully.

Ingredients
- 3 egg yolks
- 1/3 cup Sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 250g Mascarpone cheese
- 400 ml Whipping cream
- 1 package Ladyfingers
- 300 ml Water
- 2 tbsp instant Coffee
- 1 tbsp unsweetened Cocoa powder, for dusting
Instructions
- Combine egg yolks, sugar and vanilla in the top of a double boiler. With a whisk beat for about 5 minutes or until thick and light lemon-colored.
- Add mascarpone to whipped yolks and beat until combined.
- In another bowl, whip the cream and gently fold into yolk mixture and set aside.
- Dip the ladyfingers into the coffee mixture then
- Line the bottom of a the glass dish with the biscuits.
- Spoon half of the cream filling over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another ladyfinger layer, then finally the remaining mascarpone.
- Refrigerate several hours or overnight to set, then Garnish with sifted cocoa powder before serving.
