The Yogurt drink is a simple pleasure packed with nutrients, good bacteria and loaded with vitamins, it is known and consumed all over the world, as it can be made with any fruit! The Yogurt drink in Algerian cuisine is used as a dressing to coat the fruit salad.
Like any other fruits, mangoes are healthy and high in vitamin C, vitamin A and fibre, Research has shown that they prevent cancer, help to lower cholesterol and promoting good eyesight, as well as digestion improvement… I was not a mango fan in the beginning as our mangoes in Algeria are imported from South America and Africa well I’m not saying that they are not tasty but maybe because they were available year-round with different colours, shapes and ripeness but the first time I remember I really enjoyed eating them was in Pakistan. The Pakistani mangoes are so special with unique flavour, taste and fragrance, check my other Mango Recipes
Do you want to know how I was enjoying eating them? Well, like any South Asian fights the summer heat, wash a fully ripe mango and put it in a mini Ice tub for few minutes, take your mango and keep rubbing between your hands and pushing your fingers all-round nicely so that lumps inside gets released and juicy, pinch the top and keep squeezing and sucking the juice out of the mango it’s fun when the juice runs down your face and hands it is just a Yummy experience must try (thanks to my husband).
Mango Lassi is another Indian way to enjoy summer’s juiciest fruit and to beat the summertime heat. Here is the recipe to enjoy this fabulous drink that won’t take long to make.
